Initial Pillows make great gifts. What are initial pillows? Pillows with an attached piece of filet crochet featuring an initial. I recommend that the pillow be no larger than sixteen inches (measured diagonally), and strongly recommend using a plain fabric (usually a cotton/polyester blend) in a solid, dark color, such as navy, hunter green, brown, or burgundy, so that the contrast with the initial is really evident. Depending on availability, I either buy the pillows ready-made or buy a pillow form and make the cover. The initials are done in your choice of white or ecru, and are hand sewn to the covers. Laundering instructions vary, and are included with each pillow.
